Air Sense 10 humming

In the thread the author mentioned that he rented an Auto Start model, which seemed to be quieter. Is the issue primarily related to the Elite model? Does anybody know if there was a bad/defective batch that was released? Looking at that thread and the names of other threads that I will read after posting, the problem seems to be fairly prevalent (although I am sure that the people who are having problems would write and the people who don't probably won't write as much).  I was leaning towards the Airsense 10 because it is supposed to be more aggressive in treating the apnea and my previous experiences with Resmed machines. My AHI has gotten worse since I started living in Mexico (I will post Sleepyhead charts in another thread for help after I figure out how to do it) and want to treat it aggressively. I will start thinking more about the Dreamstation now. If anybody has comments about the machines I would appreciate it.

My problem with Medicare is that Medicare does not cover me outside the US, I don't know how the warranty would work.

Thanks again for your help

I reckon thats me. I have had 3 Elite machines and they have all been extremely noisy and found to be faulty. In between the replacements, I was provided with rental machine that were all Autosets and they were extremely quiet. The last one was so quiet, you couldn't even tell if it was on. ResMed then offered to give me a brand new Autoset to replace my Elite at no additional cost. When I went to pick it up, it was nowhere near as quiet as my rental Autoset. So much so that I asked the supplier if I could keep the rental. ResMed said yes and offered me a new warranty from the day I got it. Happy days.

RE: Air Sense 10 humming
Resmed is replacing my noisy Airsense 10 Auto as well, after some polite but firm discussions. I have made it very clear that I am in a situation to make a fair bit of fuss if the situation can not be resolved to my satisfaction. After a talk with my sleep specialist, and taking into account an underlying lung condition, I have accepted the offer of a new Airsense 10 Auto for Her, with the slightly different algorithm, and the option to return to the standard auto setting as well. I will post the outcome after a few nights with the new machine after I pick it up next week. For info Resmed have as good as admitted that the loan machines are a special build and my theory is that they are used as bait to get sales. They are as quiet as can be,  and most people would buy after using one. Once you get a standard production model the fun and games start. Oh-jeez

I;m new to the game and will give you my 2 month opinion.  Dream station is better if you not gonna use ramp.  air sense 10 better for ramp.  If I did indeed in fact and get fully working machines.   even though dream station has a user ramp button right on the machine....  air 10 feels like it ramps smoother.  but dreamstation has better constant pressure,  i feel airsense flutters.

I actually felt the cflex on the dreamstation was more noticeable too then epr on the airsense 10 elite by far. but my airsense might be a dud. lol
i'm using rentals.
