RE: Another small rant.
Capt. whatever you are picking up, will be prepared before you get there. Just call and ask what's in the box before you leave. If it doesn't meet your expectations, it's a lot easier to tell them by phone than to show up after a long trip and a lot of inconvenience.
RE: Another small rant.
Thank you for the advice. I did tell them on the phone specifically what I wanted. It sounded like she really did check stock on both items indicating that they had them in stock. So they know precisely what I wanted. We shall see and, knowing me as I do, I will get just what I want. LOL
RE: Another small rant.
Well I picked up my new machine, mask and accessories today. Anyone one following this adventure knows that I called and verified that the
DME had, in stock, the specific machine (Resmed, system one, auto) and other items that I wanted.
You know it never turns out the way you want it to does it. The technician had pulled out a Resmed "dream machine" which I noticed on her table.
Before we went too far I relayed the story of my conversation with the person up front who made my appointment. She said that the model I wanted
was out dated and they would have to special order it.
So I told her that the person I talked to said they had exactly what I had specified in their "large" warehouse...said they had everything....Not. The
tech went and checked with that person and came saying that the person I talked to was....ah.."confused", and that they had no real time inventory
system that the person up front could have checked. A lie backed up by a falsehood. Why is this getting to be so common.
I was a bit ripped don't you know. After all the checking and verifying I did, it was all for naught. Me pirate blood boiled, then I
tacked hard and asked if she had my second machine choice in stock. She quickly said yes and went to get it and adjust the paperwork.
Well my new Resmed AirSense A10 is all set for my first night. A new machine and a new style of mask (Swift II nasal pillows)....we shall see.
All in all it turned out to be a fair morning with a just "okay" visit to this DME. It was certainly a better choice than the other option in our area. They were
very friendly and the technician was very professional and understanding at my frustration.
RE: Another small rant.
Sadly, I am not at all surprised about your experience. I *love* to give people a chance, and it really is painful to see them *suck so bad* time and again.
I'm glad you got one you're hapoy with.
Don't forget to update your profile with exactly which machine it is.
RE: Another small rant.
Thank you for pointing out, in such detail, each mistake I made in my post.

Sleeprider; At this point I expect anything I would write would be met with editing skills which would be better applied to the NYT fact file rather than a none-medical help site. Hope you are proud of yourself.
