Any disadvantage to ASV
Hello, I am a 69 year old male in good health. I believe years ago my CPAP was causing centrals so I switched to ASV about 3 years ago. My therapy has been great (I believe). Average AHI is less than .2. I feel better than I have in a long time. Almost never tired. So here's my question. I had an echocardiogram a few weeks ago and they found "mild pulmonary hypertension." My regular blood pressure is normal. I have no way of knowing how long I have had this mild PH. Is it possible that the ASV is causing this? Or are there any other risks with ASV? Thanks!

RE: Any disadvantage to ASV
I doubt the ASV caused the issue. I used to be on ASV myself, only reason I'm not is I've got COPD/Asthma and the ResMed AirCurve 10 ASV had no manual time controls. And my LVEF was 55% when I started ASV, 2 years later LVEF was at 66%. I've got heart timing issue called PVCs.

RE: Any disadvantage to ASV
ASV is a positive air pressure therapy the resolve both obstructive and central events. I don’t know how that might be the cause of PH which has a succinct sent of causes, unrelated to the activity of an ASV. If anything, it may help mitigate the effects of pulmonary hypertension. I suspect this might be a “what came first’ question. You probably moved to ASV as a result of undiagnosed PH, rather than experienced PH as a result of ASV.
