1st time posting and looking for advice and help. I have been using my CPAP machine since 2019 and have very low events per night however I have not seen the energy benefits that some of my friends have told me about. At first I was told it was weight issue which I have lost 20 kgs, I'm not looking to see if anything else can be done with my CPAP set up to help with my low energy issues during the day.
I have attached 3 nights sleep from last week for reference and review.
Your AHI is very low and your therapy looks great, unless you know what to look for. Your arousals are related to the flow limitation that will be visible in zooms of the flow rate which will show flattened and distorted inspiratory peaks. With a flow limitation from .15 to .35, that is a lot of sleep disruption! I have seen worse, but the question is, whether it's worth addressing? The only way I know of to really treat flow limits like yours is to use bilevel therapy with more difference between IPAP and EPAP pressure. That is why I use a Vauto. The hard way is to try to explain this to your doctor and get a prescription and insurance approval for a more expensive device. The easy, but expensive way is to buy a used Aircurve 10 Vauto and prove why you need it. I took the route of buying my first BiPAP back in 2014 and finally getting a prescription and insurance approval in 2015 for the Vauto. I just got my replacement new Vauto through Medicate this a week ago. It can be done. You appear to have done everything right with your Airsense 10 Elite CPAP by using the EPR 3 available to you. I'm sure you have tried different pressures and found 9/6 works best. If not, you might try higher pressure just to address the flow limits and RERA.
