correct setting with n20,n30 or n30i

RE: correct setting with n20,n30 or n30i
The Dreamwear frame is more restrictive than the P30i/N30i frame per their flow data.

IF you tend to pinch off one tube when side-sleeping (and you may not), and feel air-starved when on your side, you may need to go up one step from what feels right on your side.

Remember, nothing disastrous happens if you try the wrong setting. Try it in your normal sleeping position and just see how it feels. Pay attention to what the mask is telling you, and pick the setting that feels most comfortable.

My god finally it all makes sense!

I had no idea about this. I was using Dreamwear nasal pillow mask and i always felt like breathing through a straw. Will try a N30i today. This information that on airsense 11 face - nasak - pillow will affect how you feel the air delivered to you is possibly a game changer for me. I have deviated septum and enlarged tubinates too, awaiting operation. So knwoing i can adjust these setting to suit my specific needs is vital.

So thanks to everyone here!

There is pressure drop in the hose and mask proportional to the airflow. When you are between breaths, the mask compensation does nothing. When you are inhaling and exhaling, it tells the machine how much to adjust its internal pressure so that the pressure you experience in the mask matches the target pressure.

Try breathing through a drinking straw. Feel the restriction? The purpose of mask compensation is to dynamically adjust the pressure at the other end of the "straw" in response to airflow. When properly adjusted, you won't feel the restriction.

Lets hope you are still active here, or if anyone else knows: Im in a situation where i really need to use a nasal mask. Preferably nasal pillows but nasal cushion could also work. The problem is that my exhale always feels so restricetd on these types of masks, even with epr at 3.

In my F20 exhalation is easy and effortless, in my Dreamwear nasal pillows i feel like im being suffocated from not being able to easily exhale. If i want to use nasal pillows, maybe with a frame like P30i or Dreamwear and i want 13 cm cpap pressure and epr 3, what else can i try to try and lesser the exhalation resistance more besides going bilevel?

Maybe set mask type to nasal or full face? If that drops inhale presssure mayby increase ipap a little? Or maybe turn on the anti bacterial filter option for extra umpf om the inhalation and thus being able to lower the cpap pressure thus also lowering epap pressure?

So far only P10 makes me able to exhale easily. Problem here is medium is too small and restricts airflow and Large is too big and leaks constantly. Maybe i should try the Brevida. I have the Dreamwear nasal pillow at home too to experiment with settings if there is a way to make exhalation easier and still give me 12 -13 cm of fixed pressure to control my apneas.
