RE: Breath pattern question
I believe the defaults are:
Ti min 0.3 sec
Ti max 2.0 sec

I'll definitely set it at that. I'll all about trying new things.  Big Grin

RE: Breath pattern question
The Ti min of 3.0 could be the culprit in all this. Definitely set that to 0.3.

RE: Breath pattern question
Sorry to ask David because I've forgotten, but was that VAuto a used unit? If that's the case, best practice is to reset the device to default before any usage.

PS wouldn't Ti Min/Max at 3.0 force all inhales to be 3 seconds, regardless of spontaneous efforts otherwise?

RE: Breath pattern question
You can perform a factory reset in the clinician menu. This will set both back to the base times.

If you have/had a Ti min set to 3 seconds, then that could very well be your problem. The Ti min setting determines how soon, or long, before the machine can drop the IPAP pressure. The Ti max setting controls the maximum time that the IPAP pressure will be maintained. I believe the default settings are, Ti min=.2 and the Ti max=2.8. For some reason, a Ti max setting of 3.1 feels more comfortable for most people. Leave the Ti min at the .2. The Ti min setting rarely needs to be changed.

Unless they can reset the odometer on the machine I don't believe it was a used one. It wasn't supposed to be a used one. I "think" it has 200 and something hours on it. The first time I used it was Jan 3rd and I've used it for ~8 hrs every night since.

RE: Breath pattern question
I'm pretty sure this was operator error. Anyway, by changing TiMin back to 0.3 the anomaly will be gone. 100% sure.

RE: Breath pattern question
Yes, I hope it's mystery solved. I've got the settings as Ti Min 0.2 and Ti Max 3.1 so we'll see what OSCAR has to say tomorrow morning. Thank you all again.

RE: Breath pattern question
No worries!  Clearly, the 3.0 second I-time is readily apparent when plotted against the timeline:
