Breaths Per Minute (BPM)
I was noticing in the clinicians setting section of my DreamStationAutoSV.....BPM. And, it's set to off.

Just wondering what it is.

Hop over to here https://www.apneaboard.com/adjust-cpap-p...tup-manual

And request the clinical manual for your machine it will explain all the settings and what they mean

RE: Breaths Per Minute (BPM)
Gramma, many people are using the Auto S/V machine because they have central apnea where they don't spontaneously initiate a breath. The BPM setting is a backup-rate that will deliver a timed breath before an apnea occurs. Common settings for BPM are 10 to 15 breaths per minute (BPM). Some individuals use the Auto SV to resolve periodic breathing or hypopnea, but don't suffer central apnea. For those patients, the BPM can be set to off because they spontaneously trigger inspiration.

RE: Breaths Per Minute (BPM)
I have an ahi of 7.5 from last night (Sat)

I changed the settings from the DME because the ahi was 10. I do indeed have central apnea along with obstructive, so I guess it's called mixed apnea.

my settings last night were

Pressure 22
EPAP max 17
EPAP min 13
PS max 9
PS min 5

BPM auto

any way I can do something different to get closer to 0

We I’ll need graphs to comment and as i don’t think this machine works with sleepyhead yet (try it though I may be wrong) if sleepyhead does not work then you need to obtain a copy of Encore from here http://www.apneaboard.com/forums/Forum-P...-and-Links

RE: Breaths Per Minute (BPM)
I finally got it to work!
so, I guess what that tells me is that I need to simply work on hypopneas.  The CPAP is working for the most part on the centrals and obstructives.

I can't see anything in these charts.
If your problem is hypopneas, then you need more inhalation pressure.  There are two ways to do this.
