Yes, I would like to know where you can buy a new S9 Autoset and the Quattro mask at those prices too!

I'm new to all of this, and trying to sort out how the system works in Australia. From what I can see, Supplier #10 DOES require a prescription on machines and some masks. Has that changed since you ordered yours? Will they take prescriptions from outsidet the US? Thanks, Dooley

Most cases they don,t ask for prescriptions but if asked your Australian prescription will do nicely.

Thanks for the warm welcome and the helpful answer Zonk! I just posted a new thread with more of my story and a number of questions, so maybe when you have a moment you can take a look there, since they are mostly related to dealing with this in Australia.
Cheers, Dooley

You guys are mentioning suppliers that do not require prescriptions. How do I find those suppliers? Zonk is correct: you must have a prescription to purchase CPAP in the U.S. Perhaps other countries do not require a script, but the U.S. does. If you live in the states, I would not advise you to attempt to purchase one without a prescription as there could be penalties if you're caught. I would suggest that you simply go to your family doctor and ask for a prescription. The truth is that any physician can write a script for CPAP - they don't have to be a sleep doctor. Also, you are not required to have a sleep study done in order to get CPAP.... although most doctors would like you do have one in order to make sure you OSA before you're given a CPAP. If you can find a doc who will give you a script for CPAP without a sleep study, (which is really not advisable)... then the next safest route would be to get a data-capable Auto-CPAP so that you can (sort-of) self-titrate your own pressure settings. But again, if you suspect you have sleep apnea, it's best to get a doctor involved and to get at least a home sleep study (which can be much cheaper than an in-lab overnight study). Good luck.

RE: Buying a machine?
Yes it is the same here in the UK your machine and mask is free in this country but you need to go through the proper channels to get one. You first need to see your doctor who will then send you to see a specialist who will then send you for sleep trials. DC
