Saving time/date in ResMed S9 vpap adapt

Saving time/date in ResMed S9 vpap adapt
Still learning my new-to-me machine. It was sold as used, with only 5 hours. That could mean it got a new motherboard or that it is essentially as new, I do not know.

Anyway, I set the current time and date, but it reverts to January 1, 2008 whenever it gets unplugged from AC power.

Since you have to be in the Clinician's menu to set the time/date, it seems odd that is not stored in firmware with a backup battery. Like any common bedside alarm clock/radio does.

Can't find a mention of a battery in the S9 literature. This is a real shortfall, at least while I'm in the learning process and moving it around with me as I try things during the day and test the settings at night.

Thanks!!

It does have a battery (CR2032 - I think) on the underside of the motherboard.   The S9 is old enough that the original battery has worn out.
Look in the lower right corner of this image:

You will need some torx drivers.

One and Done! It was a timeless moment, but I can't stay living in the past.  Cool

Tinker that I am, plenty of torx and other drivers stood at the ready. One screw and a few snap tabs removes the housing. Two more screws hold the main board.

I was able to remove the old 2032 and install a fresh one without removing the board. Just carefully lifted up on the circuit board enough to gain access to the battery.

Success!

Thanks
