RE: Struggling with VPAP - Meeting Sleep Tech tomorrow!
James, the good thing about switching to ASV, its therapy may feel better than what you've got now.
Please update us when you get this ResMed AirCurve ASV. You'll find it's quite easy to setup yourself. The therapy based settings are but 3 items:
1. Mode (CPAP, ASV, ASV Auto), no real reason for you to try CPAP on ASV IMHO, ASV mode has single static EPAP, while ASV Auto mode makes EPAP a Min Max range
2. EPAP, which is much like CPAP or your EPAP on the ST
3. PS or pressure support, this is added to EPAP to get your IPAP
Note ResMed doesn't have manual IPAP input areas, but it's Auto calculated based on the manually set EPAP plus PS. You also cannot manually set timing such as backup breath rate.
