RE: 5 nights in.....grumpier,forgetful and very tired!
The OSCAR report is missing the RERA’s, which I suffered from and was causing disruptions in my sleep cycle. A RERA is a respiratory effort related arousal. A RERA is not long enough to be a hypopnea nor an apnea, but it wakes you up and/or prevents from you from getting to the deeper, restful sleep stages.
Also if you could widen the left hand pane so the numbers don’t wrap around it makes it easier to read. Because of the wrap around issue we can’t see all the settings. On headaches, you may need to increase humidity, hose temperature, or both. Cold and dry air can cause stuffiness and inflammation which leads to daytime headaches. For me those headaches feel like sinus pressure headaches over my eyes.

Are you using EPR full-time set to 3? If not, please do so. Also, you need to raise your high-pressure setting to 15 as OpalRose suggested. That will stop you from bumping up against the 12 you presently have set. You need the extra pressure to have good therapy. Good luck!

I had High pressure set to 15 for a few weeks but lowered it to 12 as I was being woken up with air blowing my cheeks open. So I thought by lowering it to 12,it might help.....would that be the case?

What exactly is the problem, your OSCAR data look pretty good, are you just uncomfortable wearing a mask?
I had a full face mask and hated it, switched to a nasal pillow and far more happier. Maybe try another mask type?

The problem is that while my numbers look good,I feel the exact same as I did before I started CPAP therapy. I still am tired during the day,I'm still foggy, forgetful, grumpy. Doctor said that once I start therapy, all of this would ease off.....but it hasn't at all.

Hi,thanks for that. Where can I access the RERA's from the OSCAR data. I can't see a RERA panel. Also I've widened the left panel now. I'll attach screenshots shortly

Then raise your upper pressure limit to 13. That would be safe and a bit more helpful.

My understanding is that the foggy, forgetful, grumpy stuff doesnt go away immediatly, it takes time to recover, and you may be grumpy as a part of your normal demeanor Are you not seeing any benefits at all? Ive been at it 2 months and have noticed some nice changes, but im still forgetfull, hoping that might improve, but what I am glad about is that im not seeing SPO2 levels drop to 60% as they did before treatment and Im not having several hundred apneas a night, which in itself is a massive improvment. Looking at your charts, methinks you have already made huge improvements, but perhaps your expectations were out of sync with what's immediatly possible? |
