Recommendation for CPAP repair service, thanks to Sleeprider

Recommendation for CPAP repair service, thanks to Sleeprider
A few weeks ago, my ResMed S9 ASV machine displayed the message that its motor life was exceeded.

It had served me well for around ten years (June 2014) and due to improvement in my medical condition, I was unsure as to whether going to a sleep doctor would result in another prescription for an ASV machine, or a downgrade to a CPAP or BiPAP, or nothing.

"Sleeprider" recommended a specific supplier which could replace the motor and reset the control board to zero hours:  "Your S9 VPAP Adapt can be renewed with a new motor, reset of run-hours to zero, and optionally new seals and calibration for a cost of $230 plus shipping at Supplier #28. That is basically a new machine without the error code at a fraction of the cost of a new ASV device."

Upon contact, I was advised that turnaround time would be 1-2 days from arrival of my machine.  I shipped it on a Friday.  It arrived on Monday (I am about 500 miles from them so shipping time was less than if it were going cross-country).  It was serviced and shipped on Wednesday and I just received the unit back from them.  New seals were not required and the overall cost was $212 including a new motor and filter, and return shipping.  Louis, the owner/technician, advised that the unit was built for 24,000 hours before the "motor life exceeded" warning appears.

The unit operates perfectly.  I can also report that for the few days without my machine, I did not sleep as well, or wake up as rested, as with it...a CPAP success story in itself.

I can wholeheartedly recommend Supplier #28, ADVANS CPAP in Garden Grove, CA.  I see that I am in agreement with "srlevine1" in this.

GP49;
You might talk to Your Dr. or Ins. company about a new machine ..
I understand they replace them at 5 year intervals ..
Keep the S9 as a backup .. Then You will not need to wait for a
machine repair in the future ..

Best of luck
