Asv and things are getting worse

RE: Asv and things are getting worse
Hi Sarcastic Dave,
Funny you mention about the differences between Resmed and Phillips because when I started this journey, I trialled a Resmed S9 ASV and never had a night of my AHI over 4. Since the recall and using the replacement Phillips dreamstation, Ive had issues which have gotten so much worse, over the last year. I am actually waiting on a Resmed Aircurve 10, ASV to rent for a few weeks to see if there is really a difference. So Thanks for your help it’s really appreciated

Expat 31,
I am a chronic mouth breather even with a full face mask, I suffer from dry mouth. I think I am taping correctly. I have snoozy tape which is specifically for the mouth and I cover my mouth completely. I will try curling my lips inwards though because I haven’t done that. I think my hose and humidifier are ok. No noises except when the mask moves a little when I’m sweating a bit. I will upload my accurate details over the weekend detailing setting info. Funnily enough, just tonight when I went to upload my SD card, it said it was corrupted! Not sure how that happens, last night no problems. Thanks heaps for your help and advice.

Sleeprider,
Thanks, I have now updated to version 1.6. I’m in Australia and TBO, after the recall and I received my replacement machine and things have gone downhill. I’m going to be renting a Resmed ASV Aircurve, so I can see if it makes a difference for me personally. I will read the post you recommended thanks. You are right regarding chin tucking, as I tend to do that when I’m on my side. I will change pillows tonight. Again thank you for your help with this really appreciated.

RE: Asv and things are getting worse
You're welcome.

If not mentioned, I used a ResMed AirCurve 10 ASV for 2 years. At times my OSCAR chart reported 0.0 AHI. It wasn't my goal, it just happened. I actually felt best with AHI between 2-3, and got that consistently for the two years, except right at the end. This was after pneumonia and bronchitis within 2 months. Then the auto algorithm controls in the ASV became a hindrance with my COPD breath patterns.

I don't think you'll suffer the same with this. The ResMed seems fast to respond, maybe a bit aggressive, but you'll likely get used to this while enjoying better therapy. My biased opinion.

Just a few settings and you're running great therapy. Mode, EPAP single or range depending on mode, PS range. IPAP is always a range and Auto configured from EPAP and PS at the moment.
Mask Primer

Positional Apnea

Attach OSCAR, etc.
