Extremely fatigued despite good numbers

Extremely fatigued despite good numbers
Hello,

I found this board via reddit, and have already been learning a lot reading through similar experiences. Thank you everyone who takes the time to help.

Some background: I've been using a CPAP for almost two years, and have seen some improvement. If I ever don't use it I really suffer and have cognitive difficulties all day. If I do use it and have a good night, I am more alert but still have brain fog and tiredeness, just less extreme.

Initially I started with a dreamwear nasal mask, but after about 8 months switched to an F20 FFM and have been finding it works much better. I have some pretty severe nasal restriction (getting surgery in a few months to try and correct it) so I end up breathing through my mouth out of necessity a lot.

Anyway, after two relatively good days, I feel absolutely horrible today and can barely focus on anything. Sharing my chart from last night to see if anyone has any advice. Nothing stands out to me based on what I've read here, but I'm still learning.

Thank you.

Welcome to the forum major maser Smile

Since you've been using the machine for awhile I highly suggest switching over to constant pressure mode. The chart looks pretty good. If you want to keep your flow limit graph set min pressure to 9.6cm and max pressure to 9.6cm-turn EPR off. I personally set my machine to cpap mode. This will eliminate the microarousals that variable pressure is causing during the night. Please try this setting tonight before bed for 30 to 40 minutes, if the pressure feels too high during exhalation turn EPR back on at 1. This will help you sleep more deeply.

Hi Phaleronic, thank you very much for the input.

Since discovering this board, I've learned about EPR and tried to reduce it. However, even when reducing it from 3 to 2, I have significant issues with aerophagia and intestinal discomfort. Given that, what would you advise?

Try reducing your pressure range accordingly.  If you used the 7-15 range with an EPR of 3, try setting it to 7-14 using an EPR of 2. Since 7cm is usually the adult minimum, I would leave it untouched.
