#1
Settings?
Am a new CPAP user and am struggling with getting settings on my machine that allow a full nights sleep.

Is this the right place to ask about machine settings?

Thank you !!

RE: Settings?
Welcome

yes but you need to help us help you. we need to see your machine's data to recommend settings.

download and install oscar the free software (link at the top), have a sd card in your machine overnight then import your data in oscar.

and finally screenshot it and post following this guide.

you will find install instructions if needed in the wiki

RE: Settings?
Yes, I can provide the requested file.

My settings issues are related to humidity settings, tube gurgling and water running out of the nose piece.

Am unable to use the default "Automatic" mode, have been trying to find a setting that provides adequate Humidity, without all the excessive ware issues...

Thank you

RE: Settings?
Hi Settings help?!  -   Welcome
This is the place!  You are off to a good start with a Resmed AS10.  Please let us know which model you're using.  This will help in making recommendations.  If you are uncertain, here is a model identifier image.
[should say "AutoSet, AutoSet for Her, Elite or CPAP"]

In order to help, you also really need the following:
  1.  An SD card, 2 to 32GB in size. If your machine didn't come with one, they can be purchased from most pharmacies, big-box stores, or online.  Any brand will work.
  2.  Download a free copy of OSCAR.  Either click on the name or use the link at the top of every page (in the black ribbon) here on the Apnea Board.  Please do not download it from any other source.
  3.  If your computer doesn't have one, an SD card reader.  Again, they are readily available from the same sources as the SD cards.
  4.  A screenshot (Daily screen) of one night's data.

Things to know:
  •  The SD card HAS to be in the CPAP when you are using it to record the high resolution data.
  •  The default graph order in the OSCAR Daily screen are listed in the order of importance.
  •  We prefer using a screenshot of the entire top most Daily screen to help with analysis.
  •  To take a screenshot, please use the F12 key for a Window or Linux computer or Fn+F12 for a Mac.  This will minimize the calendar and unwanted sidebars.
  •  Review the links in my signature for additional information on formatting and inserting an image in your post.

Looking forward to seeing a chart,

RE: Settings?
The following are Humidity settings that have been tried and the results:

Setting of 4 was too dry, nose hurt the following day
Setting of 5 was a little better but still had nasal dryness
Setting of 6 nose is good the next day, but am awakened early AM with gurgling and water running out of the nose piece

Have tried multiple tube temps including OFF, tube temps seems to have no effect on gurgling and excessive water.

Automatic setting will not work for me, air is too Hot, too much moisture...

Am at a loss of what to try, maybe a different type/style of machine?
