RE: leaks, leaks, leaks
I am with Dave on this one. I have a Vitera that is a great mask IMO. The tops straps need to be loose. Very loose. The bottom straps snug. The top of the mask has the Rollfit seal on the nose that rolls back and forth to keep a good seal. It has to be loose enough at the top to work well though. I hope this helps.

RE: leaks, leaks, leaks
Have you looked into the bleepsleep solution as a mask alternative?
I used to have constant, disruptive mask leaks that were a complete detriment to my sleep health, until I switched to the bleep solution, which I've been using for around a year and a half with NO LEAKS. It was a complete game-changer for me in terms of my CPAP adaptability.

In regard to the F20, did you get the AirFit (silicone) or AirTouch (memory foam) version? I just switched to the AirTouch myself, and when I first tested it out in bed while awake, I got major leaks every time I changed position in the slightest. Then I found a website that explained the fitting process (wish I could still find it...). Basically the bottom of the mask goes in the crease of your chin right under the lips, the top edge of the mask is between your eyebrows, and while holding it against your face in that position make sure to tighten the straps with your other hand just enough to get rid of the slack. I haven't had leaks since. Of course, if the mask overshoots or undershoots the correct positioning on the top or bottom, you probably need a different cushion size.

RE: leaks, leaks, leaks
They look like they could be mouth leaks. You could try tape on your mouth to see it if stops the leak.

Jason made a video about this recently and your description is bang on.

+1 on vitera. I was using the F&P 420 series masks until they discontinued them. I just switched to Vitera two weeks ago. The leaking remained unacceptable until I tightened the bottom straps pretty tight. Since the nose bridge straps can remain loose; I'm not waiting up with the bridge of my nose sore like I did with other FFM that were "tioo" tight. The vitera mask seems to require more tightness than /usual/ and is more forgiving on the face when tight.

RE: leaks, leaks, leaks
i don't know. i was tired this afternoon and tried a nap with the vitera. i cinched the bottom straps as tight as they could go, but got this.
it's getting very difficult to come up with a mask/tape/mouthguard/collar combination that works for me after switching to the AS10. the n20 with tape and a collar seems to be the least amount of bad data. this here is awful. thanks for all the replies. |
