flow rate 411
hi,

it is my understanding that the top of the flow rate wave is supposed to be rounded off when normal.

mine has this dip at the apex. does anyone know how to interpret this dip?

thanks

RE: flow rate 411
It's a little hard to interpret the inspiratory flow wave at this close zoom level. I prefer to see 3-minute zooms that smooth out the wave-form and maybe looking at the mask pressure rather than pressure. You are using fixed pressure, and your respiratory statistics indicate a 0.08 flow limitation at the 95th percentile. I think if you change your EPR setting from 1 to 3 you will see a remarkable reduction in that statistic, and I'd be surprised if it doesn't feel better and round-out that inspiratory flow wave.

here's a roughly 3 minute slice, with the mask pressure put into screen view.

thanks

Airsense 10 autoset 411
Hi,

I have a couple questions regarding the Airsense 10 auto.

I had to buy one on the used market. It had zero run hours and am quite happy with that. I found out by checking into it (after getting a second machine, which I'll get in to in a minute), that it was made in 2017, country code 23. Not an issue for me, as the motor had no use on it.

The device # on that one is 368. The radio is AT&T, and the firmware is SX567-0306

I wanted a second unit for travel, as I had to bail on my Philips machine I had been using for that. I found another AS10 auto with about 5k hours on it. I won't even divulge how much it cost me. Suffice to say that it was practically a gift.

The device # on that one is 503. It was made in 2020. Country code 23. The radio is TMobile, and the firmware is SX567-0401

I think I have those numbers right. lol

Some of the menu items are different on these. I won't post all the photos, but one thing I notice is that after I did a factory reset on the machine from 2020, I don't see any humidity settings. Not that much of a deal, since I don't use humidity anyway.

I'm mainly just curious as to why the firmware versions are different.

Thanks for any clarification/help.

RE: Airsense 10 autoset 411
0306 and 0401 are the most common firmware versions. There are many code differences between them, however I don't know if anyone's verified if the actual therapy algorithms have differences. The Air10 line is one set of hardware, one 1MB ROM that has various code switched on or off depending on what model it's being loaded in, and different colours of plastic shells. The $500 APAP models can be reflashed into $5000 ASVs for instance, as they're the same machine. Kind of like Tesla having heated seats and the capability of high performance in every car, but it's all software locked behind a paywall.

Humidity isn't an option that should be missing though in SX567-0401; my 401 machine definitely has humidity.

thanks. it is a tad confusing. the 401 definitely had humidity setting before I did the factory reset. Once I did that, it went away.

Doing a search I think I saw something about having to plug in one of the heated hoses to the rear connection on the machine first. That seems strange as well. That tube didn't come with the machine. But that (in my instance) is moot, since I don't humidify the air.

Humidity is independent of having a ClimateLineAir hose connected; that would open up the heated tube settings only. Did you check the user menu (the basic menu) to see if it shows in there?

i don't have the water tank installed. i have one of those end plugs that doesn't have the tank. would that matter? is there some kind of electrical contacts on that???

RE: Airsense 10 autoset 411
well, you can chalk that up to a delayed occam's razor. i plugged the previously mothballed water tank into the machine, and the humidity setting instantly showed up.

sorry for the waste of time.

but i am still curious as to the different firmware versions, in case anyone can shed some light on the differences.

thanks
