I can't believe that after all this time, simply changing the soap took care of my problem. I should have joined the forum years ago.
Makes a great de-greaser and looks like it has almost no bad things in it.
smells nice too.
No phosphates.

I would suggest, however, that you try to dilute it a lot. Dawn is known for its oil breaking powers (they use it on waterfowl after an oil spill). I wonder what it would do to a silicone mask part over time.

Hey Paula, I've been using Dawn to clean my mask cushion for quite a while with no ill effects, I also use it to wash my face every night for just the reason you cited. I've been using it to clean my hands after working on a car for many more years, it's almost as good as hand cleaner for removing grease. Just my .02 Ren

Hi hunningsedaniel, welcome to the forum! I like that the ResMed Mirage Quattro full face mask gives me a great dial for fine adjustment for how much pressure is on the bridge of my nose. I find I need to adjust for minimal pressure on the bridge of my nose, which would allow bothersome leaks around the eyes if I did not use the Gecko soft gel nose protector. I highly recommend the ResMed Gecko nasal pad, which is a super protector for the bridge of the nose and seals leaks around the eyes and nose, allowing leak-free fit without the mask being adjusted so tight that mask hurts bridge of nose. Some insurances cover two nasal pads monthly, but I can get 6 months use out of one Gecko. It is a soft gel pad which is easy to put into whatever shape I need. Can be washed with mild soap (or detergent, I suppose). To keep it clean when not in use, I save the clear plastic container it comes in and put it back in there each morning after washing and rinsing well. Take care. --- Vaughn

I don't know if medicare will cover it but it shouldn't be that expensive anyway. I use the Fisher & Pakal flexi-fit 432 because it goes under the chin and helps keep my mouth closed. I have always had a problem with a very sore nose or leaks blowing air straight into my eyes. Changing the soap I use to clean my mask helped tremendously. But I still have a leak problem around the eyes. The Gecko will be my next experiment. Merry Christmas.(12-15-2012, 10:00 PM)PaulaO2 Wrote: Where is the nose sore, at the bridge? Leaks there is why I can only use nasal pillows. I tried so many nasal masks but none of them worked.
I wonder if a sleep/eye mask would help protect your eyes? The air wouldn't be hitting them. Have you tried any of the hybrid masks? I know you said this mask helps keep your mouth closed so if you went hybrid, you'd have to use a chin strap. Never ending fun, isn't it?

I think you may be over tightening the mask. It has to be able to inflate and float on the bridge.
