RE: xirokx - Therapy Thread
my reactions were pretty much in parallel with G. S., and that moving to a higher pressure in smaller increments sounds right. I was looking at the nights and thought OAs and Hs were happening below about 9.0, so would have suggested 9.2, then maybe inch toward 9.6 as a next step if that is even needed. I am happy when my OA + H score is less than 1.0, and my flow limitations 95% value is less than 0.10. You've got that now, and could stop adjustment, but certainly can also keep working on it.

Thank you "quiescence at last" am grateful for your help as well.
Here are the last three days' worth of Oscar data with the EPR on 3 Although I am waking up less during the night and sleeping for longer, I keep waking up exhausted, unrefreshed. Is this a CPAP and Sleep Apnea issue? I am still using the kitchen roll in the mask and its stopped all condensation inside the mask from forming. Thankfully no more rainout recently as well. Would really appreciate some more help to know what to tweak to see more improvements. Cannot thank you enough...

Your AHI is primarily driven by clustered CAs, which you have commented about previously.
The CAs and the pressure adjustments interrupt your sleep. The latter is due to the low minimum pressure setting, which was currently 8.6. To address both issues, I suggest EPR=2 full-time and minum pressure 9.6cm.

RE: xirokx - Therapy Thread
thanks so much, I really appreciate your suggestion.
Do you think if I change my EPR 2 and Min Pressure to 9.6 I will wake up feeling more refreshed? is that what you mean? Thank you for your ongoing help and support

Woke up this morning with a intense headache/migraine, is this due to my settings? Have had to take paracetamol to get rid of it but it's still there...

Hi xirokx.
Wondering about your CPAP therapy pressure listed as 15 cm ? Was that from a sleep study? You have very few OA events in spite of using a much lower pressure in the last charts. And CA events are high. Seems to me that you need at least lower EPR, maybe EPR1 You have very good exhalation time, so you maybe get rid of Co2 easily. This lowers your signal to breathe causing the CA events. Also, this EPR1 will allow your EPAP pressure to stay higher which can reduce your few OA events. Looks to me like a setting of maybe min 9 cm max 10 cm EPR 1 Szabo, do you agree?

Hey SeePak
Thanks for replying The 15cm max pressure was not from a sleep study but a recommendation from a forum user above. It seems from 11th Sept I have been experiencing head bodily aches and pains plus headaches upon awakening. I didn't realise this until this morning as I try and piece together were these bodily symptoms came from. I thought I was getting unwell with the flu but I believe it's Cpap related... Any ideas?

Instead, one advisory member recommended 13-14 cm because xirokx was hitting the 12 cm ceiling. I also agree with higher than 12 because the 12 cm ceiling was not enough on more than one occasion.

I'm wondering how you feeling more rested than normal can you make it through the day pretty good how are all those types of things and also since that was not a prescription for you from a sleep study I would suggest as I did in my last post
Also would like to confirm that you are using a full face mask and you have that set on your machine indicated on your Oscar data information I think once you get the epr set right you should feel a lot better Like I said in the last post you're probably getting rid of the CO2 with your exhale no problem so you probably can do better without epr Not everybody needs epr and I'm one of those it's something that was added on and you can read about it on the apnea board Wiki information site Also I'm wondering about your breath work are you able to go for those walks with your mouth closed because even though you're using a full face mask and breathing through your mouth while sleeping it's really important to get your mouth closed the rest of the day when you're conscious of it and even for the walks that you do |
