[CPAP] xirokx - Therapy Thread

Szabo, do you agree?

We have been through the high and low EPR settings. This member's CAs do not correlate with the EPR figure. Instead, sometimes, there are unexplained CA clusters that push up the figures. I made some comments about these clusters above.

As for the higher than 9 cm minimum pressure: I provided a detailed explanation too for the request of our member.

Of course all the above are just suggestions and xirokx can take whatever avenue is better for him.

Sorry my bad I am all over the place G.Sazbo is correct, nobody here suggested a max pressure of 15cm...I just checked my machine and it's currently set to 12cm...it has been for a while.

Should I change my max pressure then? What should I change it to ? Any suggestions?

Yes I use a full face mask.

Until I came into this forum I could never make it throughout the day without having a nap. This changed since I arrived but then recently I started getting these intense headaches. I thought I was getting the flu but it seems it's due to my Cpap, I think.

I have a deviated septum and other nasal issues I am due to have septorhinoplasty surgery on Wednesday this week. I can rarely breathe through my nose because one side is constantly closed so whilst out and about walking it's all through my mouth.

Sorry I'm getting confused Gsazbo and I were trying min pressure 9.6 max pressure is for some reason set to 12 and epr 2...are we now changing this?

My head is really painful I think it's a migraine and I need that go like asap

Please help

Thanks

I suggest EPR=2 full-time, minum pressure 9.6cm, max pressure 13 cm.

Thanks a million

Do you think my migraines are caused by all these changes?

Also it's easier to go with one person's suggestions for me, as I don't think clearly at the best of times due to sleep issues

Appreciate your support

I'm wondering how you feeling more rested than normal can you make it through the day pretty good how are all those types of things and also since that was not a prescription for you from a sleep study I would suggest as I did in my last post
Also would like to confirm that you are using a full face mask and you have that set on your machine indicated on your Oscar data information
I think once you get the epr set right you should feel a lot better
Like I said in the last post you're probably getting rid of the CO2 with your exhale no problem so you probably can do better without epr
Not everybody needs epr and I'm one of those it's something that was added on and you can read about it on the apnea board Wiki information site
Also I'm wondering about your breath work are you able to go for those walks with your mouth closed because even though you're using a full face mask and breathing through your mouth while sleeping it's really important to get your mouth closed the rest of the day when you're conscious of it and even for the locks that you do

No problem Xerox

Follow what you will you can always go to my settings later or you might end up there anyway

Main thing is you're feeling better since you started which I think you are

Peace to you. It looks like you are tackling the main issues of pressure range well. I am so sorry you are getting headaches, and wonder how we all make the judgement that we are not rested or still exhausted when we wake. Is there some quality thing we feel when we awaken, like "my dreaming was so scattered and confusing", "I woke up tense.", "my heart was racing or pounding" when awakened. That might indicate there may be a source that we can work on. It is a big mystery to me, but some suggest (and I have suggested sometimes myself) that either "deep" sleep or REM sleep durations are low or non-existent. I am not sure there is any tool that we can trust to show or measure that. 'besides' EEG usually measured in a sleep lab. I'll drop a couple resources in a day or two, to show you some of the research material... If in a hurry, just internet search for "slow wave sleep NIH study" always add the NIH in the search terms to weed out the "healthy body, healthy soul" spiritual enlightenment websites.

Because of the different suggestions about the EPR setting, let's titrate it again, although I thought it was settled.

Run the EPR=2 full-time for one week, setting the minimum pressure to 9.6 cm and the maximum pressure to 13 cm. The following week, run the EPR off with a minimum pressure of 9.6 cm and a maximum pressure of 13 cm.

Post the daily CA scores for the two weeks to see the EPR effect alone without changing any other parameters.

RE: xirokx - Therapy Thread
I will have two days worth of this data epr 2 max 13 min 9.6 then I go into hospital for septorhinoplasty surgery. So upon being discharged will continue as you suggest...1 week each of the settings as you describe

I hope these sudden headaches stop...they're excruciatingly painful and I've never had them.
