Can't install OSCAR.
I haven't turned on my laptop in a while. So when I did, I noticed it was running an older version of OSCAR. Since I have moved my OSCAR_Data directory on my desktop over to google drive, I thought that it would be nice if I could import the data using my desktop (which has a full sized sd card reader) then later view the graphs on my laptop (only micro sd card reader) at work.
After upgrading OSCAR to the latest version, it keeps hanging at the "loading profile" part.
So I have been thinking to completely uninstall, then reinstall, but each time, it seems to be referring to my old data. Any idea how I can completely remove it so I can start afresh, then worry about pointing it to the correct data folder later on?
RE: Can't install OSCAR.
I'm guessing that you have a Windows O/S. Go to the registry and delete, HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\OSCAR_Team. This will remove any evidence that you had OSCAR installed.
RE: Can't install OSCAR.
Thanks for that.
Just to update here, I did that, and reinstalled. This time it started ok, and required the usual set up steps of selecting the language and location for data etc. When I tried to select my google drive data, again, it hung up at "loading profile". But this time, I decided to be patient and just leave it for a while.
And lo-n-behold, after many minutes, it came back to life and now loads normally.
Long story short, I need more patience in my life...
