Cheyne Stokes-How to verify?

Cheyne Stokes-How to verify?
In retrospect, i have lots of these over the years.

This year has seen the worst i think.

i have had a recent sleep test, no sign of issues there according to sleep doctor.

Apparently my dad was told he had breathing problems, not sure what they were, but he passed away this year and doctor did mention Cheyne Stokes
(  i know this is somewhat normal when passing away)

I am now continuing to followup in much more earnest.

However, i am wondering?.....

How is it possible that this is NOT Cheyne Stokes?

The 3 charts do look like CSR even though they are not all 100% CA's (they have some OA's in the chain).  The 2nd and 3rd chart look like he is making a voluntary attempt to break the cycle of CA's; but he is not able to do that (not strong enough breathing).

You make a good point SeePak.  Did your father have any heart conditions or any condition linked to CSR?

No heart conditions that I know of and I've usually in exceptional health again that I know of lowest blood pressure one thing is my pulse rate has gotten pretty low but seems to be okay usually around 42 to 46

Sorry about that SeePak.  I remember reading that the strict definition of CSR has 100% CA's in the chain.  You have OA's mixed in.

Just my opinion, but it looks like if you could have broken through a couple of those OA's, you might have stopped the CA sequence.

But I do see the CA's (purple bars) occurring all night during sleep like you see.

One other thing I just noticing today is that my pulse oximeter oxygen readings are basically hanging around 93 94 92 sometimes going up to 9596 I used to be able to do breathing exercises and make it set at 99 but I can't seem to do it today

Have you had either any heart or oxygen checks? Might just want to consult, for peace of mind is nothing else.

I've had all my checks always okay never shown any signs of any problems really
And in retrospect having been on CPAP for so many years and then discovering Oscar I had 2 years worth of information on my SD card that I can find all kinds of Cheyne Stokes respiration events so this has been going on for a while I'm sure

Thanks Jay and Dave !

I had a burn smell from my machine last night funny enough which I've had before so I stopped after 1 hour
I had another meeting with sleep specialist he assures me nothing wrong from my recent sleep study and he doesn't even want to think about me getting another machine
I'm too tired to argue right now but I will follow up with my doctor and get it pushed from his side some more
