First night results from Oscar

First night results from Oscar
Greetings,

I have been googling and learning about all this since I got my diagnosis 2/5. I was able to expedite the process and got my machine within a couple days (yesterday). I got the Autosense 11.

Diagnosis from home test AHI 58.8 on side/stomach 90 on back, Oxygen saturation down to 50%

I got home Yesterday and was exhausted, so, decided to take a nap. I napped for a couple hours then was up around 8PM or 830. I went back to bed around 11, but wasnt able to get to sleep, got up for a bit and went back to bed at 1AM ish, I think I fell asleep around 130AM? Up at 6 with the alarm. Didnt even go back to sleep once, usually I would hit snooze until 7 or sometimes 8 AM.

Oh also, I took my nap with the P30i and swapped out to the N20 when I couldnt get it snug when I went to bed for the night. I made sure to change that on the unit.

For some reason the time zone is set to -5 on the cpap, and it doesnt seem to want to change due to there being data? I am in timezone -8 which Is what I have the Oscar software set to.

Anyways. If anyone has time would you mind taking a look and letting me know how its looking? 4.7 AHI seems a little high?

Thank you,

Welcome to ApneaBoard, Bob.  Tremendous progress going from 90 or 60 AHI at night down to about 5!  Keep up the good work and this should help your health out a lot IMO.  Your charts look ok to me.  You have EPR at 3 full time.  Flow limitations not too bad around 0.07 95%.  They could improve though.

The only possible thing I see is maybe trying a soft cervical collar.  The light blue marks that are OA's happen later during sleep.  They don't cluster a lot, but a soft cervical collar could prevent them.

Tremendous progress wouldn't you say from 50% (low SPO2) with untreated sleep apnea?   Even though you don't have oximetry with last night's OSCAR, your SPO2 levels must have improved also.

Others may have more targeted suggestions to  help you further optimize your pap therapy.

Thanks for the welcome Smile

I agree that its great progress. Very excited. I will look into a cervical collar. I bought a couple pillows as well but didnt get to sleep on them. A cpap designed memory foam pillow, as well as a 12" wedge. So might see if those can help as well.

Thanks for your feedback.

To combat your flow limits and smooth out your pressures I would move the min to 8.  That gives the EPR enough room to fully work and you won't have pressures jumping all over the place, also, it makes it a quicker response to events.

Thanks, I was thinking that it might be good to bump up the min, I will give this a shot tonight and see what happens Smile

Update:
Got a full 8 after bumping up to 8-20, also had more time to sleep, lowered AHI to 1.13!
