There is only one type of chinstrap that cannot pull your jaw back, and it is recommended on this forum. I cannot recall its type, but you should search the forum. If you have a collar together with mouth tapeing, you might not need a chinstrap at all.

You mean a chinstrap that may hold the jaw still or pull it forward?? Yes cause that's the main problem actually,  I got mild retrognathia and my chin and jaw drop back when I sleep supinely or on the sides but closer to supine position.  I need something to hold my chin. For some reason, the dental appliance doesn't do that work anymore.

Mouth taping I've never tried. Is it useful for something like that??

Mouth taping might hold your chin in place because it will hold your lower lip where it should be.  I would try it if I were you.  If it doesn't work alone, wearing a neck collar with it would likely help by holding your chin up.  Good luck!

Any medical tape will do if you use it vertically from the base of your nose below your chin. I use Nexcare, which is 1 " wide, two pieces next to each other. 
Other brands specifically designed for this purpose are pricey, but they can be found on Amazon.

I suggest that you buy 2-inch wide tape. I started with 1-inch and still had too much leaking.
