Thank you, HalfAsleep. I will forget about the mask test function, and I'll try the cheek protectors if I decide to continue with the full face mask.

I read the very useful post that UnicornRider linked -very, very helpful! I'm now leaning toward the Bleep Dreamport (preferred over the Eclipse because it's lighter - no issues with the magnetic components so it is a possibility). I called the DME and asked about it. They don't carry it and won't order it. I'm going to order it myself, but will have them send a nasal pillow mask. They have them from the major suppliers. Offered a Nuance Pro first? I'm going to call back after looking into the various choices. If anyone has a quick recommendation for a nasal mask I'd be grateful.

Well, things have turned around! I ordered the Dreamport system and finally tried it out tonight. I hope I'm not speaking too soon, but it was incredibly easy. My plan was to wear it for an hour and then try to sleep with it. The machine has been running for maybe 15 minutes at 4 (the low end of the range). I can't tell whether there are any leaks. There is air coming out of the apparatus but I think only from the ports. The noise level is higher than I'd expected and I don't know if it is normal.

The air feels unnatural; I love fresh air and sleep with the window open. But if I sleep better this way, that's a minor issue.

I haven't downloaded Oscar yet, will do that tomorrow. It will be interesting to see what the machine report is in the morning.

I hope that this is my solution. I have had my machine for about 2 weeks but haven't tried to use it since the first couple of frustrating days with the full face mask. Without all the kind and generous people on this forum, I would never have gotten this far. Thank you, everyone!
