Dream Station question
Hi there folks,
I have been using a DreamStation APAP for about 2 years and my results seem to be highly variable. I have a couple of questions to ask and will be grateful for any help you can provide.
(1) I sometimes have to take opiod pain meds and they seem to really hike up my AHI. Is this true, and if so, is there anything I can do to correct this?
(2) I notice from studying SleepyHead graphs that the automatic pressure increase function seems to be sluggish. With reference to the attached screen dump, the AHI graph shows an upward ramp from about 2:30 AM to about 4:00 AM. However, the Pressure graph slows a slow increase in pressure during this period which does not reverse the ramp for about 90 minutes. This is a relatively minor example from last night's data, and I have seen graphs in which the AHI can go as high as 30 before the ramp reverses. Is there a way to tweak the APAP function so that it ramps up a bit more quickly and/or aggressively and thereby reverses the ramp sooner before it gets to such a high level?
