First time seeing CSR on my carts
I have been using CPAP for over 10 years and last night was the first time I have seen CSR events on my Oscar carts and am wondering if it is something to be concerned about.
My AHI numbers are normally below 1 and never above 3.
I have attached screen shots, the second of which is to include SpO2 and Pulse Rate data from my O2 Ring.
The machine is a Lowenstein Prisma 20A and I understand that this machine is not fully supported by Oscar.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks,
Clive.

RE: First time seeing CSR on my carts
Thank you for that Clive. Do you have any heart problems? Specifically congestive heart failure? The vast majority of CSR that is indicated by pap machines is false. But a few people with heart failure actually have genuine CSR.
Actually, if you could do a 3 minute close up OSCAR zoom of the CSR on your charts, and upload them here, that would help. Just click right before the CSR starts, then drag the mouse to the right for about 3 minutes; then upload that chart.

RE: First time seeing CSR on my carts
Thanks for the reply, and no history of heart problems for me or family.
Have attached closeup.
Also SpO2 and heart rate are normal for that period.
RE: First time seeing CSR on my carts
I'd consider calling this a false flag of CSR, more likely something like periodic or variable breathing. Only due to no heart issues.

RE: First time seeing CSR on my carts
I totally agree with Dave on this. They don't look like "classic" CSR either as they lack the (crescendo- decrescendo) pattern (with pauses in breathing in between each - the CA. Basically, real CSR happens for most of the night and not in short isolation. Also, they look like several round beads on a long string (all symmetrical, too).

RE: First time seeing CSR on my carts
CSR is a specific type of periodic breathing. The machine can detect periodic breathing, but it can't tell whether it's CSR or non-CSR periodic breathing. (I wish Oscar would use the label "PB" instead of "CSR.) As for yours, Jay and Dave have explained that your periodic breathing is non-CSR.

"PB" is specific to Philips, whereas Resmed uses "CSR". In order to maintain creditability, we must use what the manufacturer specifies. Of course, you can always change the label name in your OSCAR Preferences. How about "Sometimes Not Breathing" or "Breathing in Timeout"?

RE: First time seeing CSR on my carts
Thanks for the replies and info folks. I feel a lot better about it now but will post again if I see any more.
Last night AHI was 0.11 with just one Hypopnea which is more my norm.
Also does anyone know how I can edit the original post to read charts instead of carts? Can't find an edit button.
Thanks again,
Clive.
