Doctor not able to download SD card after downloading it at home using ResScan 3.16
I used to download my SD card using ResScan 3.14 and my doctor was also able to download it after I did at home. In December 2012 I started using ResScan 3.16 and after downloading at home my doctor was not able to download the card - they got an error message. I used a new card, locked it before downloading at home and again the doctor could not download it. They are using the ResScan 4.2. Any ideas what is happening? Thanks[/size]

You might want to check out the "Data management device compatibility list" on the ResMed website and see if your machine is compatible with the new ResScan software. Were you able to re-download the data after the doctor tried it? It may be that the software is wiping the data after the initial download.

Many application programs throughout the history of computers have been updated and improved - and not all of them readily import data from older versions. While upgrading (it's not hard to do - really) is not guaranteed to solve the problem, it's worth a try. Especially if you're using a 3.x version and your doc is using 4.x

Hi Aletta,
WELCOME! to the forum.! I don't use the data management software but hang in there for more responses to your post and best of luck to you with your CPAP therapy.

I think there is a setting that if you turn it ON it will erase the card after reading it at home... thus Card is empty at thr dr.s office. Try turning the erase function Off. It must be in your setup menu

RE: Doctor not able to download SD card after downloading it at home using ResScan 3.16
Thank you all for taking the time to respond. At the doctor's office the card was put back into my VPAP Auto and it stated "reading card". At home I created 2 "new" patients and downloaded the card in the first file - no problem! I then removed the card from the reader but did not put it back into the machine and opened the second "new patient" - downloaded it again - again just fine - the data is still there! I am concerned about downloading the 4.2 since the e-mail I received states "...if you'd like to try out the new ResScan 4.2 version, you can download it at this link - use at your own risk"

I think you will be OK downloading this new version of software. INFORMATION ON APNEA BOARD FORUMS OR ON APNEABOARD.COM SHOULD NOT BE CONSIDERED AS MEDICAL ADVICE. Really. It's standard in almost every EULA (yes I have been known to read them) where the author accepts no liability if data is destroyed, your hard drive formats itself, your computer blows up, your husband leaves you, your dog is abducted, or any other horror you can imagine. Virtually all software you use at your own risk. But seriously, don't let that bother you. I run version 4.2 on Windoze 7 with no problem. But the usual caveat: don't install the drivers. When I'm feeling adventurous and ready to re-initialize my system I'll work out an antidote, sort of a lame-ass version of "reverse engineering" I did it for the C2.lop virus and charted out - if you're infected, what files to delete/restore etc. I can do it for the "accidental" installation of drivers for ResScan - only, not today.

It is safe to update. The only reason maybe not to update is if your doctor were still using an older version, which he is not. I suggest updating to the latest version. Take care, --- Vaughn
