Does a new cpap require reinstall?
#1
Question
Does a new cpap require reinstall?
I got a new cpap machine from my health provider and need to set up OSCAR for it. I tried searching everything including wiki for how to do this, and couldn't find anything on it. So it begs questions:
1. Can OSCAR handle two different machines (in case I have to use the old one)?
2. Do I have to uninstall the software and reinstall it for the new machine?
3. If I don't have to uninstall (and OSCAR can't handle 2 machines), how do I convert to the new machine?

All the instructions seem to be geared only to new users and initial installers. Am I missing something?

If the 2 machine are the same make and model, you can use the same profile. If they are not, then it is best to set up a new profile.

Since CPAPs personalize an SD card to one CPAP's serial number, prior to use, your options are:
> use a different card
> delete all data on the old card
> format the old card

I presume you mean a new profile in OSCAR. I added a profile in OSCAR, but I don't see how to set up the new cpap. It doesn't appear that HELP covers this. Can you give me a tip?
(the machine is a new brand)

Not sure what you mean by "set up" new machine.

Be sure you have a new SD card in your new machine while sleeping.  It's best to use a different SD card as each machine assigns a serial number.

When ready, open the new profile in OSCAR, then insert the new SD card and import data.  Oscar will recognize the new machine.

Also, if you need a Clinicians manual, order it here:

At the main menu in OSCAR, in the upper left, is a tab labeled "Profile".  That is where you need to create a new profile.

Thanks, this was helpful, as I was unaware it was this easy.

Unfortunately, I have one of those machines that doesn't give any detailed data for daily charts (see attached). I guess this is what I can expect from the ResMed AirSense 11?

I got my question answered. I guess I should have attached a pic to give a context of what I was talking about (see attached). The model etc was blank. I didn't know to just input the data and it would automatically fill in the blanks.
