DreamStation 2 Water tank 'proxy'

DreamStation 2 Water tank 'proxy'
Can I somehow operate the DreamStation 2 without the humidifier tank?  (I don't use the humidifier.)

Quoting from this document:  (Title Page     shown in the attachment)
DreamStation 2 CPAP/Auto CPAP Advanced Frequently Asked Questions: Provider

Question 20:
20. If a traveling patient forgets the water chamber can they still use the device without the water chamber by using a cap or similar?
No. the device does not operate without the placement of the water tank (or side cover purchased separately.)

I have been unable to confirm the existence of this 'side cover'.  All searches return the 'lid' which you take off to fill the tank.

Has anyone seen this side cover or have a part number for it?

Thank you in advance.

I've not seen the cover myself, but I'm going to guess it's similar to what ResMed does on their 10 series machines which has an integrated humidifier. This cover acts as a blocker plate to complete your air circuit without a humidifier tub in place. I don't know if I'm correct, but that's how I'm guessing this will be.

Don't add water then if you don't wish to do so, but if your don't add water be sure to turn off the humidifier in the settings.

Thanks for your reply.  I've already turned off the water tank heater.

I wrote Philips several weeks ago and finally got a reply:

"...There is not a side cover for this system, so sorry about that."

Either the manual is wrong or I've misinterpreted it; either way you have to carry the humidifier tank.

I would speculate that perhaps when that was printed it was planned to produce a side cover in the future... It's also conceivable that other events may have cause such any such planned production to be postponed... indefinitely.
