DreamStation Auto - setup question
Unpacked it and got it configured. Didn't take long, the clinician manual was included.
Question:
There is a setting,"Mask Type", that has the options "OFF", "x1", "x2", "x3", "x4", "x5".
The book says it's for pressure compensation for a Philips Respironics mask. I don't have a PR mask, I have a Resmed mask. I do have the book for the mask, and it does have 2 resistance numbers: 50 L/min: 0.4 cm H2O and 100 L/min: 1.4 cm H2O.
Mask venting rate at my pressure is going to be about 27-28 L/min.
Any ideas on how this "Mask Type" should be set?
RE: DreamStation Auto - setup question
I used a PR Nuance Pro pillow mask for a while. The resistance setting for it is x2 for the s,m and large pillows. When I changed to the ResMed Airfit P10 I kept the same setting. It seems to be working out OK. I couldn't see a difference in my numbers after the change.
RE: DreamStation Auto - setup question
Thanks. I'm using a Resmed Swift FX nasal pillow mask.
I'll look at the PR Nuance Pro data sheet and see how the numbers correspond to the Swift FX and set accordingly.
RE: DreamStation Auto - setup question
This is mostly marketing. It makes a small adjustment to the pressure based on the leak rate. It is not a critical setting.
