DreamStation DSX500 or Respironics DS560

I need some help in deciding between
Phillips Dream Station DSX500 $429.00
or
Respironics System One DS560 Remstar atuo cpap $349.00
both are available at Cpap liquidators new

I have seen better machines but are out of my budget

I am replacing a Remstar atuo M series with A-Flex

I have both. My 560 served me well for 3 years. It’s still going strong but I bought a dreamstation 500 Auto from Amazon for $383. It’s brand new and I have switched to the DS as my primary machine.

My AHI and other metrics are pretty much same on both machines.

DS is quieter than the 560. This may be due to the fact that it’s brand new and switching from a 3 yr old 560. Although the 560 is also pretty quiet.

DS’s carry bag is much better than 560s. The 560’s bag was a joke. If you travel, then DS’s bag will come handy.
If I were in your position, I would watch the DSx500T11 price on amzn and get it when it’s closer to $375.

I did not realize that the Respironics DS560 was that old.
Anyone know when it was produced?

I believe the first dreamstation auto CPAPs were released in late 2014, and mostly replaced the System One by March-June 2015 in the market place. We continued to see leftover 60 series machines at about $350 until they faded away. For a while, it was possible to pick up very well-priced Dreamstation Auto CPAPs on Amazon, but the price has been steadily rising. There is nothing wrong with the System One machines, and the therapy is essentially identical, however the form factor is larger

Recently it seems all CPAP machines have disappeared from Amazon, most likely due to complaints from DMEs claiming those sales are illegal. This has happened before, and the machines always came back. The Dreamstation 500 auto CPAP is currently $425 on Amazon, and the Airsense 10 Autoset for Her is $555 if you know how to look. I expect these prices might come down again, but you never know.

Anyway the $425 price for a brand new "Dreamstation Auto 500" with free shipping and no tax, from DF Discounts or Lifestyle Fitness Company is right in line with the price you have been quoted. If you're looking for the Autoset For Her, lookup the Sistemma Store on Amazon.

I received my 560 late October, 2014. The manufacturer date on the machine is September, 2014. It was new then.
Just want to say, this has been a great machine. It's not as pretty as the new DreamStation, but I believe works pretty much the same.

They are still selling these units on many online supplier sites. Just be sure that if you go this route, you get the heated humidifier and heated hose with it.

If I were to replace mine now, I would go with the DreamStation.
