Dreamstation 1 huidifier not heating

My humidifier is working fine now that I make certain that it’s directly plugged into a wall outlet.  Using water as always and my poor nose is finally healed from all the dryness and bleeding.  My husband is an electrical engineer and he finds this to be strange also but we can’t argue with success.  The tech said they act up before they die.  Have a new power adapter ordered and still have the loaner from the tech for another week or so.  I am however just using my old power adapter and plugging it into the wall.  Can’t argue with success.  :-)
