Dreamstation 2 ramp time

Dreamstation 2 ramp time
I just got a new Dreamstation 2 as my recall replacement.  I tend to fall asleep  in as soon as my head hits the pillow so I had a 5 minute ramp time set on my old machine.  I can't seem to find any ramp setting shorter than 15 minutes on the new Dreamstation 2.  Not a big fan of this at all.  Is there any cheat code to be able to set the time shorter?

Well, that's about right for Phillips, thinking they know what's best for the customer by limiting the capability to optimize their own therapy.

If you only used a 5 minute ramp in the past, you may in time not even need it.
What is your minimum pressure?

It's really worse then that. Dreamstation 2 uses "Smart Ramp" If you read Philips explanation of "Smart Ramp" you will find the ramp up doesn't even start until the machine believes you are asleep. Then it will began the ramp up time. So if your ramp time is set for 15 minutes you could be waiting longer then 15 minutes before the ramp time even starts. You will never know how long ramp up will take until you review your sleep data.

I also use a 5 minute ramp time on my Resmed machine but on the Philips machine the ramp is now a useless feature.

I was kind of thinking it must be something like that.  I think I will just turn the ramp right off and see how it goes.

@ Always Confused........

Can you provide the source of the information that states the DS2 uses 'Smart Ramp" (ramps when it senses person is asleep). I believe this was implemented in the previous DS1, but in none of the documentation I have for the DS2 or online can I find a reference to "Smart Ramp" for the DS2 describing this way of operation.

My own experience with the DS2 'Ramp Plus' through OSCAR graphs is that the pressure remains at the set ramp pressure setting for only  the duration that it is set after which time it slowly ramps up to the minimum of the normal pressure setting. It has never seemed to detect if I'm asleep or not.  If during the time period of the ramp there is an event that requires corrective action (apnea for example) the ramp is over-ridden to correct the event ( I have seen this occur on some of my OSCAR graphs).
