Easy Way to Clean/Sanitize Hose

There is a common fitting that can connect both ends of the hose to make a loop. Do this after filling hose somewhat over 50% with 1/3 to 1/2 vinegar to water mix. Close the loop and hang over something convenient. After about 45 minutes rotate the loop so that the dry part is now wet. After another 45 minutes drain, rinse and hang to fully dry.

Seems like a lot of work, I wash my headset, face mask, couplings and hose in hot soapy water. Rinse and let it air dry. If I wanted to sanitize it, I expect I would either rinse it with a vinegar solution or a mild chlorine solution(tablespoon to quart of water or so). My entire once a week cleaning operation takes me about 5 minutes, and that includes collecting the parts and putting them back on.

I agree. Vinegar does stink. I know I saw you post how to use Star San in another post, but I can't find it. Where do you purchase it and how do you mix it?

I have seen straight couplings to hook two sections of hoses together on some of the online cpap supplier's sites. I think that is what the OP is referring to.

Food Grade hydrogen peroxide for my mask and humidifier chamber. I could probably work out a way to also use a very small amount in the hose.

I use about a half to one cup of vinegar in 1-2 gallons of warm water to soak my tank, mask and 8ft hose once a week for about 30 minutes. I then rince well in warm water and let air dry. I don't notice any leftover vinegar smell. It works well for me.

Yes, vinegar stinks straight out of the bottle, but after rinsing well, there is no odor at all.
