So, is there anything more powerful than the Resmed filters. They are excellent, but at times I need more.

Enhanced Allergy Filters?

Enhanced Allergy Filters?
I love the little 2x3" filters that come with my Resmed, but is there any more enhanced filter? It's amazing how the filters protect me from almost all allergy effects, they just look like a little piece of gauze. However the pollen bomb here in E Texas overwhelmed it all last week with a week or more of very high winds. (Allergies worse in high winds, don't know why) Result, feeling horrible, emergency room, lots of meds, etc.

RE: Enhanced Allergy Filters?
I've not come across any myself. I looked on Supplier #1 to see what there was to offer. For the ResMed 10 series, it's only the standard FWIW.

If your using the standard filter now than there is another filter. Resmed makes a Hypoallergenic filter also.

If you do a google search for Disposable Hypoallergenic Filters for AirSense 10 you should find them in the US.

RE: Enhanced Allergy Filters?
My initial post was misleading. I didn't consider the hypoallergenic filter.
Here's some ResMed info on standard VS hypoallergenic "Standard: Average arrestance: >75% for ~7 micron dust Hypoallergenic: Efficiency: >98% for~ 7 – 8 micron dust. >80% for~0.5 micron dust."

RE: Enhanced Allergy Filters?
Internet says pollens range from 1.2 to 700 microns, so the hypoallergenic filters should do me a lot of good.
My packages from Medigy (supplier) say nothing about hypoallergenic, so I guess they are standard. The standards have been very impressive until last week when we got continual high winds with no relief; then they were overwhelmed, or I was. I will see if Medigy can give me the hypoallergenics. If not will order from ResMed; dirt cheap compared to all the doctor visits and misery. Thanks so much. As for the 1000 mile journey, start off when you are a lot younger than I am now!

RE: Enhanced Allergy Filters?
Welcome.
This may be another thought for consideration, some say that DME's may supply non-name branded filters that, standard or otherwise, can be less effective. Maybe consider sticking with a brand name version. I cannot verify if there's any truth to that or not though.

RE: Enhanced Allergy Filters?
Well, here's the problem. The Resmed brand filters are actually better than any of the knockoff hypoallergenic filters. I would recommend keeping your bedroom windows closed and getting an air room filter. Honeywell is usually the best brand.
As to the Resmed BRAND hypoallergenic filter, good luck on finding a seller for that. |
