Are the ResMed Aircurve 10 S and ResMed Aircurve 10 VAuto the "exact same machine"?
My sleep doctor has ordered an "Aircurve S10 ResMed bilevel therapy" in response to my titration study. I've been following this board for a month or so and I've never seen anyone refer to this machine. I believe the machine I want is the ResMed Aircurve 10 VAuto. When I asked why he had ordered the S10 he responded "They are the exact same machine." My response is below. Am I wrong?

Thanks for your response, but I don't believe they are the same machine. According to the ResMed site, the ResMed Aircurve 10 S is a fixed level machine meaning it does not auto adjust throughout the night (increase or decrease pressure levels within set parameters based on events.) It stays at the set pressures. It also does not have a backup rate.

The ResMed Aircurve 10 VAuto IS an auto adjusting machine, auto adjusting throughout the night between a minimum and maximum pressure allowing for a more comfortable night and better adherence to therapy. It also has the ability to add a backup rate if needed.Since this machine is possibly my machine for the next 5 years I want to make sure I get the right one.

Same happened to me; sloppy with the model numbers. I think the word "bilevel" will get what you need, but I'd call to be sure (I did, and did get the AirCurve 10 VAuto). Good luck!
Still huffing on the magic machine.

The ResMed AirCurve series 10 S and VAuto are not the same, but are both BPAP. VAuto can adjust to pressure ranges, the S can't.
Mask Primer

Positional Apnea

Attach OSCAR, etc.

Thank you both for your confirmation! I did place a call to the DME to confirm the machine. perhaps it was being sloppy with the model numbers but with my doc you never know.

This forum has been so incredibly helpful to me as a new CPAP user and I’m so grateful to you for giving your time to help others.
