Welcome to the forum daydream, No, I don't power off the machine, just press the round knob to turn off, but don't pull plug from power outlet. I believe that constantly pulling the power will do more harm to unit, somewhat like a computer.

RE: Power off during day time?
Hi daydream,
WELCOME! to the forum.! I don’t unplug my machine during the day, I just turn it off. Hang in there for more answers to your question and much success to you with your CPAP therapy.

RE: Power off during day time?
On my AirSense10 it takes a looong press to totally turn off the machine. I just stop the blower and leave it to report back to ResMed MyAir at its leisure, and maybe (someday) pick up a software update.

RE: Power off during day time?
Not intended to be turned off except to bring to a new location. It doesn't draw a lot of electricity, unlike your dormant TV (Our electric bill dropped 15% when we plugged the TV into a surge protector and started shutting it off when not in use).

RE: Power off during day time?
Don't bother unless you have some particular reason. It's unlikely to extend the life of the machine, and would probably make it worse.
If you remove power, the electronics goes through additional cycles of electrical power on/off, circuit board heat/cool, etc. Just to be clear, yes, do turn off the blower instead of leaving it blowing all day long. If you are paranoid about leaving it on, go ahead. The extra power cycles aren't that big of a deal. It's probably a somewhat good idea to unplug it if lightning is nearby, or you're having power surges and the lights are flickering. The odds of damage aren't really that high, so don't worry if you don't get around to doing it, or if you're using it.
Get the free OSCAR CPAP software here.
Useful links. Click here for information on the main alternative to CPAP. If it's midnight and a DME tells you it's dark outside, go and check it yourself.

RE: Power off during day time?
My machine keeps blowing a small amount of air when I shut it off. I understand this is to dry any moisture in the hose.

RE: Power off during day time?
yep and it will time out and totally stop. You sure don't want to get any mold in that hose. Dry is good.
