[Equipment] Sanitizing Used Machine

Sanitizing Used Machine
Morning everyone,

Unfortunately, my doctor refuses to write me a script for an ASV machine without trialing BiPAP first despite Resmed stating that's incorrect and my insurance company saying it's fine, so I'm going to buy a machine secondhand. Any advice on how to properly sanitize the machine itself? I know how to clean tubing and humidifiers.

I may be mistaken, but unless the machine was at a smokers home, there should be almost nothing internally to clean. If it needs deodorizing, get Ozium at Wally World or Advanced, Auto Zone, etc.

Only the air that goes through the machine is what is in the room it was housed. Allexpired air is through the mask. So a used machine is not much of a problem a used mask and hose needs to be new.

Supplier # 2 is where I bought 3 one for me, my wife and son. They were great machines and would recommend the supplier.

Appreciate the advice. Unfortunately, I'm unable to get a script due to my doctors desire for a paycheck. Seems like that website requires them, so I'm relegated to DotMed and Facebook market where everything seems to be very used or a sketchy listing. The only listing on DotMed that is from a reputable dealer has 15010 hours used. Is that machine even worth buying?

Was that very used one about $950?

Normally no it's not a good deal. Only reason to buy very used will be to get the therapy AND prove ASV necessity to a doctor that cares, not this current one.

Yeah that's the one. All others only have 3-6 reviews to their accounts and I'm not sure how I feel about risking $1500ish on that.

Any Dr can give you a script. Use your family Dr.

There was a $1K low hours like 1,300 ASV. How was that seller rated?

I don't see that one I'm afraid. It's either that very used one or brand new ones from shady sellers.

Try calling supplier 2 to see if they need a Rx. When I bought one for my son we did not have one
