SpO2 Sampling Rate - Apple Watch
Hi there,
I think the SpO2 sampling rate is important to get useful informations. The OtwoFellow-Ring (=Circul-Ring) has 1 Hz = 1 measurement per second.
Knows someone the SpO2 sampling rate of the Apple watch? Can you really do something with the information of SpO2 from the Apple watch?
Sorry for my bad English,
best regards
Martin

Additional question:
Which device can you recommend me for useful and meaningful SpO2 measurement? What about the Wellue o2 Ring?
Thank you!

Hi Elroy! -
Since that oximeter in not available in the U.S, I am limited on the information available to me. Several oximeters have the 1 Hz rate, but only record a sample every 4 seconds. You need to look at their software's sampling rate.

Worth a read comparing the Apple Watch to medical grade equipment.

The Contec 50 series is very reliable, just make sure it is compatible with OSCAR. Very cheap as well, compared to the Wellue (I had both the ring and the 72 hr thingy, send both back).

Thank you for your welcome and for your answers.
Just had a nice conversation with Apple support. The (not US-) Apple watch only measures SpO2 when the device is completely at rest and then only once every 30 minutes. The SpO2 measurement is not medically certified. This is not a medical product and in my optinion is only partially suitable for our purposes of continously maesuring the SpO2 concentration in the blood although it measures the values very accurately.
At the moment I prefer The Circul-Ring = O two Fellow Ring with his 1 Hz sample rate; it's a medical product, recommendes by the Charité in Berlin, that is without OSCAR-Support, but with a very nice App for Android and iPhone - unfortunately a bit expensive.
