[Equipment] Verizon outage and DS2

Verizon outage and DS2
Looking for others having issues with Dream Station 2 after Verizon's network outage last week.

Unit displaying 'Service Required'.  After plugging device back in it attempts 3 times to startup and then gives service message. I personally believe it has to do with cell modem not properly communicating with Verizon network.

I've been trying to get answers from Philips support but they are no help yet.

RE: Verizon outage and DS2
DreamStation 2 owner/user here. I'm inclined to think it is not a problem with the cell modem/Verizon as that will usually have error codes associated with a connection problem and not stop the machine from functioning.

I did find this on the Philips site with a troubleshooting phone number. I might also try removing the air filter in addition to what is suggested below in case the filter might be plugged up and blocking air flow....

"The screen on my DreamStation 2 device says “Service Required.”

In order to troubleshoot, please do the following:
1. Remove the water chamber and empty.
2. Unplug the device from the wall and power brick.
3. Remove your SD card if applicable.
4. Reconnect your power brick into the bottom of your device and plug directly into the outlet (not a power strip).
5. Power on device.
6. If excess water caused the error, water may spray from the silicone inlet/outer seal of the device.
7. If your device is still displaying “Service Required,” please unplug the device and try a different outlet. Ensure that the power outlet is a good, working outlet and not governed by a wall switch or dimmer.

If your device is still displaying “Service Required,” please call 833-262-1871 for additional troubleshooting."

The DreamStation User manual has this in the troubleshooting section and suggests contacting support and/or your DME. Is your therapy button ring blinking as noted?

"Service Required
Please contact support.
(therapy button ring blinks continuously}

Indicates an error which enters device into “Safe State.” This allows power to remain on but airflow is disabled.
Disconnect device from power. Reattach power cord to restore power. If the alert continues to occur, contact your home care provider."

RE: Verizon outage and DS2
UPDATE:

After speaking with the support team at Philips and Care Orchestrator, and learning more on how DS2 connects via cell modem AND Bluetooth I discovered the problem was the Bluetooth connection with my Galaxy S21 phone.  Coincidently on the same day that my DS2 stopped working my cell phone received a System update.  For whatever reason this update caused a corruption with my Bluetooth section of my Galaxy S21 phone.  This was confirmed after using two other cell phones without any issues with the BS2.  After selecting 'Reset Wi-Fi and Bluetooth Settings' on my Galaxy S21 the problem was corrected.

Dang, that's another reason why I like the DS1, you just remove the modem from the machine. Smile You can do something similar with the Airsense/Aircurve 10 by taking the faceplate off and unplugging the modem (left side of the machine). If I had a DS2 I'd take it apart and see if the modem can be unplugged, also is there an airplane mode on it?

Yes, the DS2 does have an 'Airplane Mode' which I used to help me determine the root cause of the Bluetooth issue.
