For travel purposes, I just bought a Philips Dream Station Go Auto CPAP from an online supplier and found it is locked at 4. I tried this out last night. As I tried to sleep, I felt that I was working harder to breathe on this travel machine. I wondered whether the new small hose contributed to that. I woke after only 4 hours of sleep with discomfort in my lungs.
As the Dream Station Go has no water reservoir, I am wondering whether the dry air caused my lack of sleep and lung discomfort or was it caused by the lock on the machine to only 4. I do note that it helped my discomfort to breathe in Vicks Vapo rub when I woke up.
I have just joined the apneaboard and have requested the clinician set up instructions for my new travel machine so I can re-set it to what I am used to.
I would love to hear from others whether they have had similar experience and whether unlocking and re-setting will likely solve my discomfort or whether I need to find some type of hydration device to moisturize the air when using this new machine.
