[CPAP] Waking at night with headache, switch from nasal to full face mask.

Question
Waking at night with headache, switch from nasal to full face mask.
Hello all,

I hope everyone is good.

I have been using CPAP since Sep 2020.

I was diagnosed via sleep study with severe apnea (AHI of approx. 60).
Using Resmed Airsense 10.

The settings on machine are:

Mode: Autoset
Mask: Nasal
Response: Standard
Ramp Time: Auto
Start Pressure: 5
EPR: on
EPR type : Full time
EPR level: 3
Climate Control: Auto
Tube Temp: Auto

I originally went for sleep study as I woke in morning with headache, feeling nauseous and fatigue.

I did not experience much improvement on CPAP. At least 1/5 days I wake up with nausea, fatigue. I sometimes have a red face. Often I am woken in middle of night with headache.

I use it every night.

I go back to sleep Dr and he says my AHI is great on machine therefore everything is fine.

I recently switched from nasal P30i to full face F20 to see if that would help any.

I increased pressure from min 7.4, max 14 to min 8.4, max 15.
Attached graphs show overall stats,  a typical night with nasal and a typical night with full face.
With the full face mask leak has dropped from approx. 10 to less than 5. AHI has increased from less than 1 to approx. 2.5.

My questions are:
1. Should I stick with the full face mask? Do I need to change settings again to get the AHI down? If people could review my charts I would be super grateful.

2. Does anyone have any thoughts on the waking up with headache and being nauseous and super fatigued during day regularly? Is this an APNEA issue or could it be something else?

Thank you for reading this and for all of the help and support offered by this forum.

RE: Waking at night with headache, switch from nasal to full face mask.
The only reason to use a full face mask is if you open your mouth when you sleep. which ever one you use ;you need at least a 7 min pressure. 5 is to low, it will not allow the EPR to work and most if not all people need more than 5 to get enough air. I need at least 9 min or I'm pulling my mask off because I cant breath.
