First night with my third CPAP did not go so well (very itchy throat)
First night with my third CPAP did not go so well (very itchy throat).

i have an upcoming cold and i (luckely) only have a scrappy throat, but the CPAP device makes me cough non stop because of the itchy feeling.
i already changed the humidity of it and also added the heating humidity to it after that, but it doesn't help.

i drink plenty of fluids and it only starts when i put on the mask, it's a nasal mask btw.
i changed the ramp up from 10 min to 45 min but also did not help.

what am i supposed to do now?  I however did have a slight feeling that i might actually be able to fall asleep this third time, if it wasn't for that damn cough.

First thing to do is to post the 5 essential graphs:-

1.Events
2.Flow rate
3.Pressure
4.Leak rate
5.Flow limitations

Make sure calendar and pie chart are disactivated, and settings and statistics are fully visible in the left side side of the graphs.

Fuller details are found in this link - Oscar chart organisation, and  Attaching images, files and posting charts  may help.

This will help us check your settings to make sure there is nothing here making your cough worse.

We will be checking also that the minimum pressure is sufficient, and evidence of positional apnea that is often present in the early stages of treatment, but this is just guessword without data at this stage

One thing first for you to check is the intake filter. Give it a flick with thumb and forefinger to clear any surface dust that may be there.

Bye the way, you need to download Oscar if you haven't got it already.

If your mouth is dry that could be causing your itch. Have you tried Xylimelts? These are little round discs that can stick to the top of a tooth and the gum. They work well to keep the mouth moist, and taste good as they slowly melt. Here's a link in case you are interested:

Machine:  ResMed AirCurve 10 Vauto
Mask:  Bleep DreamPort Sleep Solution

i changed some settings and noticed the heating function wasn't on, humidity was set to 4. i didnt have a scrappy throat after that but i did wake up 1 hour later with water in my throat.

my room temperature was so much colder than the cpap device so why does this happen?

You may need to use a hose lifter.  They hold the main hose up above your head so no water can drip on you.  Here's the one I use:

Machine:  ResMed AirCurve 10 Vauto
Mask:  Bleep DreamPort Sleep Solution
