RE: Frustrated with the allergies.
File the foam filter that comes with the machine and buy allergen filters. The ones I buy are about $5 each and they clog up really quickly, which tells you something, but they stop the pollen and the dust mites. Once they are clogged you have to throw them away.
RE: Frustrated with the allergies.
Allergies<<<<best advice...take your meds compliantly, and clean or change the filter regularly. You can also get microfilters. The water can accumulate bacteria and pollen in just one night, so change or dump the distilled water in your humidfier as part of your bedtime ritual. Remove any unnecessary cloth or paper from your room: books, paper, linens, blankets, etc. Remove carpet and draperies. Dust the room regularly (like weekly) with a damp cloth. Buy dust mite proof linen covers - you will need to check the micron size for sure. Good ones are not cheap, bu they work and you can wipe them with a damp cloth to remove mites. Don't sleep with your windows open or a fan running. Change or clean any house or room a/c filters regularly. And last but not least, buy a good hepa filter for your bedroom! That is instructions I give my patients
