RE: Getting used to ASV pulses
I will leave the chart comments to other brilliant members that have more knowledge on that. I will say, I used to sleep only 2-4 hours per night and only the same 2-4 hours at any one time. That pattern only changed when I had used my ASV for about 2 months. I have seen my consecutive sleep hours increase to about 5 or 6 hours. Just note that my back plays a part in less than 8 hours sleep. I cannot stay comfortable beyond that time. And that includes left or right side sleeping, with some back sleeping mixed in.
I believe the more time you use the ASV, soon enough your sleep time will increase.

I'm cruising along at 5 cm and it jumps to 10 cm about three seconds after the last breath, or two seconds after the next breath was expected. Ish. The big pulse is followed by a series of decreasing pulses to get my breathing back to normal. This description is spot on for what I experienced with Aircurve 10 ASV. When I get home I'll post a zoomed screenshot of my charts for a graphical representation.

Jesse,
Yep, that's what mine looks like. I just remembered the Ramp button. I'll start using it when I drop off. If I remember in the middle of the night. That could help. I'll try 5-9, 2-6 PS tonight.

RE: Getting used to ASV pulses
This segment of graph I posted, I was deliberately exhaling and holding out. This was the best i could do to emulate a central apnea. I do not have central apneas.
For me, it was very difficult because I consciously focused on breathing every time I had this "pressure pulse." On the second night, the machine was doing a lot better, and I attribute the second night as being better directly to the adaptive capabilities of the machine.
