The Bongo RX. From what I can tell from their website, it’s basically nose plugs of some kind with no IPAP except your own breathing.

But, it is FDA approved.  Bigwink
My get-up-and-go musta got up and went.  Cool

I guess if your problem is a floppy nostril that might be effective. It's not much of a solution.

LOL

Hard to imagine it would do much more than prop your nostrils open.

Interesting, I hadn't even heard of this before. Does more than you guys are giving it credit for but definitely not for everyone. There are clinical trials showing effectiveness (bongo claims them, I found ones for another manufacturer provent) which is how they received FDA approval.

The concept is simple, it is just a check valve on your exhalation which maintains EPAP (by not allowing you to breath out fully) until you start taking your next breath. The downside is that when you start next inhale EPAP is temporarily lost (which can allow airway to collapse in some people) and extra work is required to breath out against these (saw reports they can be harder to adjust to then PAP which already sucks for most).

What I was curious about is the effective EPAP (or if there are different levels available). I couldn't find values for Bongo but Provent has 10 cm EPAP which is more than what many need to keep airway open. I assume PAP treatment would be more effective in most people but could see this working for the odd person that PAP works for but for some reason they can't sleep well with it (the noise, pressure/flow, no power etc).

Not surprising, I assume this would be a pretty small market since it isn't as effective as PAP.
