Headgear velcro not sticking
Help, my velcro straps on my headgear are starting to let go during the night.
I have checked them and they are clean, that is there is no lint or other matter on them that may have been clogging the hooks up.
What are my options please
Replace the velcro ?? has anybody done this as a fix
What other tricks are there to fix this
Dont want to replace the whole head gear
Happy sleeping

RE: Headgear velcro not sticking
How old is your headgear? Velcro does wear out eventually. If it's clean and not filled up with lint, and if it ain't sticking to one another, I'd guess it's worn out.

Thanks Big Guy, I am starting to think thats its worn out.
It was replaced on 27th May last year, so its just over a year old - or should I say young(not old)

Unless you are routinely tearing apart the two surfaces for some reason (?), and have at least 100 such separations, there's no way your Velcro is worn out per-se, unless it was sub-standard from the outset. Maybe it needs to be pressed with a 'squiggly' action once it's adjusted for fit. I mean that you apply some pressure, not much, and using your finger tips, gently move the two straps sideways and in a figure eight motion, but not with a great deal of amplitude. The idea is to wiggle it into a tighter bond, so just a bit of side-to-side and up-down, almost like a gentle temple massage for a headache. You're trying to get the hooks to mesh a bit more often in any given area, which will strengthen the connection.
I have used the same headgear (for an N20 nasal mask) for three months shy of 3 years, and my Velcro still works well. I have adjusted the straps perhaps 15 times since the first fit.
