Help Interpreting OSCAR data
[attachment=57980][attachment=57980][attachment=57980][attachment=57981][attachment=57980][attachment=57980][attachment=57980][attachment=57980]I'm on day 7 of my start with CPAP therapy and I've been having a bear of a time. Since last night was my best night of sleep I'm attaching a few screenshots of a several CA events that seem suspect as in they maybe are not true events. I'm very new to interpreting the data but feel I have a few true central events but that most of them are happening in large clusters while I'm awake. I feel like I probably wake up 10x a night. My current settings are Pressure: 4-20 default APAP, Humidity 4, Ramp on 5 min, EPR of 3. I'm registering far more central events than I did during my sleep study, my original AHI was 34.5, central events <5. I wasn't really given any instructions on how to use it, set up correct pressure, etc. I do have a coaching session coming up on the 8th which I hope to be able to ask all the questions. I'm currently feeling like a zombie with extreme anxiety and heart palpitations which is far worse than I felt before I started treatment. Any suggestions on the attached screen shots? Are these truly CA events on a huge scale?

RE: Help Interpreting OSCAR data
Welcome to the board - from the full night it doesn't look like you're using EPR 3 (rather EPR 1).
It's normal for new users to have more central apneas while your body adapts to CPAP so I wouldn't worry too much. I'd recommend the following: 1. Increasing EPR to 3 full time 2. Increasing minimum pressure to 7cmH20 so you can benefit from EPR full time 3. Decreasing your maximum to 14cmH20 Try that a couple of nights and see how it works out for you. I bet a lot of those unmarked hypopneas will smooth out. Do you have any other comorbidities like COPD? What's your nasal hygiene routine look like on a daily basis?

RE: Help Interpreting OSCAR data
I have high blood pressure and Generalized Anxiety which I treat with CBT and the very occasional xanax (once maybe twice per month).
I'm not sure what you mean by nasal hygiene? Thank you for your reply!

RE: Help Interpreting OSCAR data
egglocsta,
I was about to give you the exact same pressure recommendation as gainerfull. A minimum pressure of 4 will usually cause you to feel,"air-starved". Considering that you stated that you were awake when some of those CA's occurred, you can just dismiss them. Some are probably Treatment Emergent though and will lessen in time. The recommendation to use EPR 3 is sound, as it will help with flow limitation, Hypopnea and RERA. Try for a few days and see how you feel, but if you see an increase in Obstructives, you will need to raise the minimum a little. We can reevaluate after a few days.
