Help with flow limitations?
Hi all-
I've been using CPAP since October after being diagnosed based on home test results.
When I have the mask on, I can feel it helping some, but unfortunately my fatigue, headaches, waking during the night haven't been much improved. My doc has played around with the settings (4-15 -> 7 -> 5-10 -> 10; I included the stats and overview to give a sense of how each setting changed things.) especially when I complained of not being able to breathe at 5
My AHI is great (lowest #s have been with 5-10 autoforHer and 10) and FL are much lower. However, it looks like there are periods throughout the night (certain sleep stages, I guess) when my breathing gets quite uneven and I have clusters of flow limitations. I've been more intentional about avoiding sleeping on my back, which seems to have helped with clusters of user flagged events especially.
Since the doc seems frustratingly baffled and checked out, I figured I'd go to people who really care to figure these things out- are there setting changes you would suggest? Let me know if I can add other screenshots. This site has already been a huge help
(I've also been having more problems with leaks on this latest setting of 10; it hasn't helped that the nasal mask has been uncomfortable with my septum piercing, even after switching to a retainer, so my nose feels a bit tender)

Quote:The total study monitoring time was 353 minutes. During this time, the patient had 9 apneas. Of these, 4 were identified as obstructive apneas, 0 were mixed apneas, and 5 were central apneas. The patient experienced 32 hypopneas in total. This yieled an overall REI of 6.97 events /hour. In the supine position, the REI was 15.29 events/hour. Snoring was noted. Analysis of continuous oxygen saturations showed a mean SpO2 value of 96.0%, with a minimum oxygen saturation 89.0% and a maximum oxygen saturation at 99.0% The heart rate ranged from a minimum of 53.0 beats/min to a maximum of 108.0 beats/min, with an average heart rate of 69.0 beats/min.
